While I really don’t want to enter any political debate, keeping politics and religion at arm’s length, I am of the opinion that currently, and for a long time, our country is extremely divided. Right vs the left, conservatives vs the liberals, and the haves against the have nots. I am also convinced that the President of the US , or congress will not be able to solve the problem and bring the country together. But God can.
Like the dominoes we played with as kids, once that first domino fell, it was nearly impossible to stop the chain reaction. And, in the case of our country, we believe only the steady hand of God can stop us from falling as a country.
The full scripture passage in Mark 3:24, says it very well.
“If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” Mark 3:24 NKJV
Further in Mark “And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” Mark 3:25 NKJV
Divided We Fall – In God We Trust
Several years ago we worked on a poster depicting this division and feeling that the country might fail and how could that be stopped. The poster had all the right elements of a good poster. Bits of the preamble to the US Constitution , the hand of God, the beginning of the fall shown by the falling of dominoes, and scripture to support the idea. Never printed it sorry to say. I loved it, but for some reason it was one of those that just got shelved. Take a look at it and see what you think. It’s never too late to print this poster. Things have not gotten any better in the last few years, the division is still with us. Maybe it’s time to print the poster?
